The South African Social Security Agency (SASSA) in Mpumalanga is currently visiting the Fernie two Neighborhood Hall in Mpuluzi to render providers on the community.

SASSA will be rendering services which include new social grant applications, change of payment method, consumer treatment enquiries, and also the Social Relief of Distress (SRD) COVID-19 grant enquiries.

In a statement, the agency said it is alarmed with regard to the higher variety of people counting on social grants for survival.
“The intention of your Integrated Registration Outreach Programme [ICROP] is to reach-out to a higher quantity of clients/beneficiaries to access SASSA services.

“This is sassa status certainly due to the lack of infrastructure at Fernie and there's no fully functional office devoted to service the area regularly. The company issue made for intervention activities a large influx of opportunity beneficiaries, that makes it challenging for the Workplace to attend to all people who check out a service point.

“In this reach-out programme, SASSA will mobilise a lot more resources to empower the servicing of all buyers and improve usage of Social Assistance companies,” the agency said.
